The Launch Week Update!
Thank you to everyone who has provided feedback during our first week on Steam! I had said previously that the quality of our project is something that we will strive to improve. Below, you'll find some small improvements and additions that will hopefully provide a more comfortable and enjoyable experience to both new and returning players! This update will be pushed shortly after this announcement!
The Launch Update [0.1.1] Patch Notes
Camera Sensitivity Settings
Players will now be able to set their preferred camera sensitivity from either the settings panel in the main menu or through the pause menu in-game. The default camera sensitivity has also been lowered. We are currently working on providing access to more settings from the pause menu to improve ease of access.
Maguntsche Demon Behavior Balancing
We've discovered through watching players that the difficulty scaling is too easy. We believe this is why so many players are currently able to move through the campaign quickly and why some people believe they aren't getting a complete experience. You'll find that the Maguntsche Demon now deals more damage through his attacks. We also increased the distance threshold for his attacks so that his animations are more visible to the player. His default speed has also been slightly increased.
Reality Shards Improvements
Players will now receive an auditory notification when they interact with the reality shards. You will also notice that these objects have been given animations now to make them seem more dynamic.
Player Stamina Balancing
We have also updated the total amount of stamina that the player has. It was observed that the stamina given to the player was excessive and allowed the player to outrun the enemy fairly quickly. Due to the fact that the stamina regenerates so quickly, the challenge of balancing the player's energy was absent. We've decided to start with a 25% decrease in total stamina and will adjust accordingly with additional feedback.
Minor Tutorial Improvements
We've made some minor changes to the Controls section of the Tutorial panel. If you are having trouble understanding the game, we highly recommend you check out this section! It provides information regarding specific interface elements and mechanics you'll encounter in-game.
What's Coming Next?
Through gathering feedback, we understand some of the frustration with the game's replayability. While we are planning a content update this Fall with a new game mode, we wanted to do something for players sooner to make the experience more dynamic. We are looking at adding some additional randomness to each playthrough.
The next update will include a set variety of potential spawns for each of the reality shards in three of the Realmverse iterations.
Further, into the future, we'd like to explore more alternative environment designs for each of the Realmverse iterations. That way each playthrough is always a new experience while attempting to collect archive entries. That brings us to the end of this update!
